Anime Limited, otherwise known as All The Anime, have today announced on social media that they have acquired the distribution rights to The Colors Within, an upcoming animated film by Naoko YAMADA that is currently in competition at 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
At the time of writing Anime Limited have not yet provided any specifics about how they plan to release the film, but GKIDS have also announced its acquisition for US markets today and that they plan to release the film in cinemas later this year in subbed and dubbed formats. As such we can expect that Anime Limited will also give this film a cinematic release in the UK later this year (or early next year). In the meantime The Colors Within is planned for a theatrical release in Japan during Summer 2024.
About: Totsuko is a high school student with the ability to see the ‘colors’ of others. Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town.
