MVM Entertainment have today confirmed, via a new early bird pre-order listing on Anime-On-Line, that Himouto! Umaru-Chan R, which is the second TV anime series in the Himouto! Umaru-Chan franchise, will be released as a complete series collection on 16th September 2024.
Currently available to pre-order from the Anime-On-Line store, with an SRP of £39.99, Himouto! Umaru-Chan R is scheduled for a 16th September 2024 release on Blu-Ray. The set will feature episodes 1 – 12 across 2 Blu-Ray Discs and will be presented in both English and Japanese (with English subtitle).
About: Umaru Doma isn’t a superhero, but she could be a super-villain if she wasn’t so lazy, and addicted to snack foods, comics, and video games. At school, she still appears to be the fashionable “Miss Perfect” her fellow students believe she is, but when she gets home, the popular girl façade comes off! Then the hamster cloak goes on, and her ogre-like otaku side is unleashed! So far, the only one who knows the whole truth is her loyal servant… er, older brother, Taihei, but lately Umaru’s been finding it harder to maintain the personalities that different people know her by, while her relationships with Nana, Kirie, and Sylphynford all seem to be getting closer. Is she getting… gasp! Nicer? Or is it all part of some diabolical plot?
It is expected that the on disc contents will be the same as the US release via Sentai Filmworks, which included opening and closing songs, as MVM Entertainment tend to use the same disc masters as those in the US. It’s also worth mentioning that Himouto! Umaru-Chan R is the second season, as the first season was released by Animatsu Entertainment (aka Manga Entertainment) back in 2017.
Regardless, Himouto! Umaru-Chan R is currently scheduled to be released on 16th September 2024 and is also available to pre-order from the Anime-On-Line store as an early bird offer for a limited time. We can also expect the other previously announced titles to be revealed via early bird offers on the Anime-On-Line Store in the coming weeks.
