New retail listings at SHOUT! Factory Store and Crunchyroll Store in America have revealed that Anime Limited (otherwise known as All The Anime) are planning to release season 1 of the Netflix animated series TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You as a Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray in the UK.
At the time of writing an official announcement from Anime Limited about this release has yet to be made, however the beauty shot on the SHOUT! Factory Store and Crunchyroll Store features BBFC Age Rating Logos on the discs (which are only required for the UK) and the Anime Limited logo. Based on these inclusions we can safely assume this product is also planned for a UK release, with Anime Limited handling the UK and SHOUT! Factory handling the US.
As you can see from the beauty shot this Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray release of TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You – Season 1 will feature the entire first season across 2 Blu-Ray Discs in Japanese with English subtitles. The Blu-Ray discs will be presented in a standard case, of which will slide into a rigid art box alongside a poster and 16-page manga.
Synopsis: Having grown up ridiculed for his bizarre name, Nasa Yuzaki strives to be remembered for something more. Fortunately, it seems he’s on the right path, ranking first in the nation’s mock exams and set to enter his high school of choice. However, everything changes in a single night when he notices a girl across the street on his way home. Enraptured by her overwhelming cuteness, it’s love at first sight for Nasa. But in his infatuated daze, he fails to notice the approaching danger speeding down the road and finds himself at death’s door.
Barely alive thanks to the girl’s intervention, Nasa musters the courage to confess his love to her, fearing she might otherwise vanish from his life. She accepts his proposal on one condition: marriage, to which Nasa gladly accepts before passing out from his injuries. Upon waking, however, the girl is nowhere to be found.
After recovering from his injuries, Nasa tosses his previous ambitions aside and dedicates his life to finding the girl that captured his heart, yet several years pass to no avail. But one night, when an unexpected visitor comes knocking on his door, Nasa finds himself facing a woman that would forever change his world: his wife.
It seems that once again Anime Limited are partnering with SHOUT! Factory in order to release anime blu-rays in the US, and just like with Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 last month the listing of it has gone up before it’s official UK announcement. That aside the current US release date listed for TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You – Season 1 is 11th November 2024, which coincidentally is also the same day that Blu-rays come out in the UK, so it is possible that a UK release will also happen on the same day.
