I can still hear the damn BGM.
Impressions:
Maybe I’m just in a bad mood or something, but this episode was really grating on me through the first half. It got off on the wrong foot from the start by doing a replay of the confession scene where it completely skipped over the actual important moment. From there, it went to them hanging out at his house, talking about all the things they could be doing if… completely empty space implying that they’re dating but refusing to actually saying it… and then they get too flustered to do anything. I genuinely don’t understand why they’re pussyfooting around over this. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Plus, it makes all the interactions so samey when it’s always them getting too flustered to even try. Not even a headbutt for trying to hug too enthusiastically or anything like that. Just yelling about being too flustered.
All the while, no matter the scene, even as they jump to new people or new places, you’ve got this generic chirpy RPG town background music playing nonstop without any interruption or change for 7-8 minutes straight slowly driving me insane with the monotony of it. I swear this has not been an issue in other episodes, though maybe I was able to tune it out before. For whatever reason this week, it was really intolerable and I feel like it turned the entire episode into just one long repetitive drone.
