Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- Rated by BBFC for UK Cinema Release in October

A listing on the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) website has revealed that Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp-, a feature-length-film within the Monogatari series, will receive a UK cinema release on 25th October 2024.

The film was submitted to the BBFC by Columbia Pictures Corporation Ltd., which is an entity of Sony, and was given an 18 rating on 22nd August 2024. Interestingly according to the BBFC listing the film did require a compulsory cut, which was to have a non-BBFC rating card removed, but the film itself passed without issue. It’s also worth noting that while Columbia Pictures Corporation Ltd submitted the film to the BBFC it will most likely be released (and promoted) under the Crunchyroll brand, as cinematic Crunchyroll releases in the UK are often submitted to the BBFC by Columbia Pictures Corporation Ltd.

About: Spring break, an interval of time between the second and third year of high school.
Koyomi Araragi encounters a blood-chillingly beautiful woman. The iron-blooded, hot-blooded, cold-blooded Vampire, she calls herself “Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade.”

On the brink of death after losing her four limbs, she asks Koyomi to save her. After experiencing fear, chaos, and finally conflict, Koyomi gives his own blood in order to save her.
But when he awakens, he finds himself re-born as her vampire kin.

Koyomi wishes to revert to being a human from a vampire. However, he must take back all of Kiss-shot’s limbs to do so. Working as a negotiator, Meme Oshino stands in middle ground as Koyomi attempts to recapture her four limbs by challenging three powerful vampire hunters.

This hellish spring break, the final one of his high school life, is only just beginning.

Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- originally had its Japanese cinematic release in January of this year, and later this month it will receive a one day cinematic event in the USA and Mexico, with Australia to receive the film in September. The film is expected to be shown in Japanese with English subtitles and is considered a compilation film of the Kizumonogatari Trilogy of films, of which were released on Blu-Ray in the UK by MVM Entertainment.

As far as we can tell a formal announcement from Crunchyroll about this UK release of Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp has yet to be made, but with the film now rated (and a cinematic release date listed) we can expect to hear some news in the coming weeks. In the meantime at least fans of the Monogatari series should look forward to Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- UK cinema release on 25th October 2024.
