You can just go out and hit a deer with a car, you know. Nobody’s stopping you.
Impressions:
Very little to say about the first and third parts. What if instead of snot bubbles, her antlers emitted bubbles. …And then Koishi overreacted loudly and repeatedly. And then instead of bubbles, a track suit and re-hashing the water bottle stuff for about the seventh time. Repetition is the cornerstone of comedy after all.
The middle part is at least slightly more interesting, just for how much it flubbed what could’ve been a good parody. For starters, I’m not super familiar with… uh… Hokkaido deer hunting? but it didn’t really come off as an actual parody of anything, just vaguely talking about deer hunting in general with the narrator constantly butting in to explain that this is a deer hunting thing. But just bypasses some of the easiest jokes. Like the weird sounding deer calls. He uses it, she pokes her head out, and runs off. It’s not even treated as a joke. Similarly, it does this whole Darth Maul lightsaber thing with her antlers, but just as a reference. There’s no joke there. Then it starts quoting Full Metal Jacket. Again, reference, but no actual joke. The joke is that he gets interrupted by a phonecall from his harranguing wife. References aren’t jokes. But I guess at least it’s different from “Koishi overreacts,” so at least there was some variety.
