Whoever’s asleep at the wheel for the BGM needs to be fired.
Impressions:
This was another episode where the background music was very quickly driving me completely insane with a 10 second loop that just kept going on repeat for minutes on end. At one point, I even tapped → a few times to skip ahead like 10 seconds at a time, and the loop was nearly uninterrupted. Then I kept tapping, and the same goddamned music just kept going even as the scenes changed. And then I skipped ahead to see where it would finally stop, and it took almost five goddamned minutes. That… uh… really murdered any and all desire to actually watch the episode. At least the first half. They go on a date and shop. I think I got the gist with my ears only being minorly violated.
Not that the second half was much better, especially after being knifed in the ears, but it was largely more of the same as any other episode, which considering we’re trying to build up towards some kind of ending, is a much greater sin than it would’ve been eight episodes ago. I continue to wish that this show was doing not just more, but anything with the now sort of but not really declared relationship. There’s only one episode left and even holding hands is too racy and daring. It’s long past cutsey at this point and just exasperating.
