Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Z Complete Series Blu-Ray Beauty Shots Revealed and Available to Pre-Order at Online Retailers

Last month we reported that Crunchyroll would be releasing Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super on Blu-Ray as Complete Series collections on 2nd December 2024, and with pre-order listings going live at online retailers we can now see how they will be presented.

Both sets are packaged in, what looks to be a rigid art box, and as expected Dragon Ball Super is just a bundle of the previously released individual part sets. This means we’ll see 10 Blu-Ray cases, with 2 Discs per case, inside a rigid art box. The artwork on the cases, and discs, even look to be the same as those released previously in the UK, albeit without the Manga Entertainment logo. As such we can expect the disc contents to be the same as those previously released in the UK.

Interestingly, the Dragon Ball Z complete series set is a slightly different story. This set will combine all nine seasons of Dragon Ball Z, of which are presented in nine Blu-Ray cases with 4 (or 5) discs per case, into a rigid art box. Now, this is where it gets interesting. The artwork on the Blu-Ray sleeves is exactly the same as the original US Blu-Ray release of Dragon Ball Z (as seen in our unboxing), of which was presented in 16:9 widescreen. Previous Blu-Ray releases of Dragon Ball Z in the UK have all been 4:3 aspect ratio.

It is unclear if this complete series Blu-Ray set of Dragon Ball Z will be 16:9 or 4:3, as product info on the previous Blu-Ray sets listed them as 16:9 when they turned out to be 4:3. The disc artwork is also entirely different to all previous UK Blu-Ray sets of Dragon Ball Z as well, so it is also unclear on what disc masters will be used. Will it be the same as previous UK Blu-Ray releases? or will it be the older US Blu-Ray release? Only time will tell… but at least for this set the artwork on both the discs and box are entirely different to anything else released in the UK.
