I wasn’t aware that cats weren’t allowed in Alaska.
Impressions:
I guess at least the constant silly faces from the dude and the Looney Tunes noises make it clear that it’s meant to be a comedy, but it’s not one with particularly sensical writing. Someone’s getting a promotion and transferred across the world, and the two people who are terrible at their jobs and hate being around other people are, for some reason, are so convinced that they’re the top candidates that they’re planning on pre-emptively quitting. Other characters even go out of their way to say that they’re in contention too, but the ones who are considered terrible at their jobs are, again, pre-emptively quitting before even being transfered. Because they’re *checks notes* loners who hate being around other people, and so are against being sent to the middle of nowhere. Sounds like it would be a dream job.
A little bit less of an identity crisis than the previous two shows doesn’t mean that it did anything particularly well though. It definitely lacks the chemistry between the characters of Pseudo Harem, largely because neither of them has an ounce of charisma. The imagined nothing-version of the dude had very nearly the same amount of personality as the actual dude. And both of them spent the entire thing narrating in their heads what sad sacks they are. The girl comes off a little bit better since she’s actually trying to take control of the situation and do what she can while the dude is nothing more than a constantly panicking doormat. But as far as humor goes? Overreaction silly faces is about all you’re getting.
