Updated information on the BBC iPlayer page for ONE PIECE has revealed that Seasons 4 to 6 of the animated series, which should consist of Water Seven, Thriller Bark & Summit War Arcs, will be added to the streaming platform on 20th October 2024.
On the 1st September 2024 the East Blue, Alabasta and Skypiea arcs (listed as Seasons 1 – 3) were added to BBC iPlayer, with it adding 206 English dubbed episodes of the ONE PIECE series to the streaming service. On 20th October 2024 a further 309 English dubbed episodes, which cover the Water Seven, Thriller Bark & Summit War Arcs, are expected to be added. It is the uncut FUNimation (Crunchyroll) English Dub that is available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK with the episodes themselves seemingly presented in PAL broadcast format.
Synopsis: Monkey D. Luffy is a boy with big dreams. This daring rubber-man refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become king of all pirates. With a course charted for the treacherous waters of the Grand Line, Luffy strikes out in search of a crew – and a boat. Along the way he’ll do battle with scallywag clowns, fishy foes, and an entire fleet of marines eager to see him walk the plank. The stakes are high, but with each adventure, Luffy adds a new friend to his gang of Straw Hat Pirates! Like his hero Gold Roger, this is one captain who’ll never drop anchor until he’s claimed the greatest treasure on Earth – the Legendary One Piece!
As a reminder the BBC iPlayer service have acquired the streaming rights to the English dub version of the ONE PIECE series, with the expectation that they will add over 1000 episodes of the series (of which runs up to the end of Wano arc) by the end of the year. So far the streaming service has been living up to the promise, and it is expected that the remaining seasons (arcs) will be added in November and December.
For the time being the East Blue, Alabasta and Skypiea arcs of ONE PIECE are available to stream dubbed on BBC iPlayer in the UK. ONE PIECE is also available to stream (and simulcast stream new episodes weekly) subtitled on Crunchyroll in the UK, with the Egghead Arc episodes also available to stream subtitled on Netflix UK. ONE PIECE is also available on DVD (and Blu-Ray for later sets) in the UK by Crunchyroll.
