K-Movie Entertainment have today announced on social media that the animated film LOOK BACK, which is adapted from the one-shot web manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto (creator of Chainsaw Man), will receive a limited cinematic release in the UK on 25th October 2024.
The film, which was acquired by GKIDS Entertainment in the United States and is scheduled to be screened at Scotland Loves Animation later this year, is animated by Studio Durian and sees the directorial debut of Kiyotaka Oshiyama.
Synopsis: Popular, outgoing Fujino is celebrated by her classmates for her funny comics in the class newspaper. One day, her teacher asks her to share the space with Kyomoto, a truant recluse whose beautiful artwork sparks a competitive fervor in Fujino. What starts as jealousy transforms when Fujino realizes their shared passion for drawing.
While the film has been confirmed for a UK cinema release on 25th October 2024 it is not currently known who will be screening the film or for how long, but at the time of writing listing pages have appeared on ODEON and Picturehouse websites. The film is also 58 minutes long and is expected to be screened in Japanese (with English subtitles only).
As it stands LOOK BACK will be available in UK cinemas on 25th October 2024 with screening availability expected to appear online shortly. For those interested in learning more about LOOK BACK then additional details can be found on the US website.
