Earlier in the year we reported that a listing on the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) website had revealed that Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- would receive a UK cinema release on 25th October 2024. Well, at this moment in time, it seems only ODEON Greenwich (in London) will be screening the film.
The film was submitted to the BBFC by Columbia Pictures Corporation Ltd., which is an entity of Sony, on behalf of Crunchyroll and was given an 18 rating on 22nd August 2024. Interestingly according to the BBFC listing the film did require a compulsory cut, which was to have a non-BBFC rating card removed, but the film itself passed without issue. In September AnimeNewsNetwork reported that a listing for the film had appeared on ODEONs website in the UK, and since then only the ODEON in Greenwich listed the film. The screening starts at 7pm, and the film lasts 2 hours and 24 minutes, with the film itself being presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
About: Spring break, an interval of time between the second and third year of high school.
Koyomi Araragi encounters a blood-chillingly beautiful woman. The iron-blooded, hot-blooded, cold-blooded Vampire, she calls herself “Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade.”
On the brink of death after losing her four limbs, she asks Koyomi to save her. After experiencing fear, chaos, and finally conflict, Koyomi gives his own blood in order to save her.
But when he awakens, he finds himself re-born as her vampire kin.
Koyomi wishes to revert to being a human from a vampire. However, he must take back all of Kiss-shot’s limbs to do so. Working as a negotiator, Meme Oshino stands in middle ground as Koyomi attempts to recapture her four limbs by challenging three powerful vampire hunters.
This hellish spring break, the final one of his high school life, is only just beginning.
Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- originally had its Japanese cinematic release in January of this year, and in August received a one-day-only cinematic event in the USA and Mexico, with Australia receiving the film in September. The film is considered a compilation film of the Kizumonogatari Trilogy of films, of which were released on Blu-Ray in the UK by MVM Entertainment.
As far as we can tell a formal announcement from Crunchyroll (or Sony Pictures UK) about this UK release of Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp has yet to be made, but with the film now rated, dated and tickets available to book, we can only assume this is a limited screening event for the UK. Regardless, Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp will be available at ODEON in Greenwich on 25th October 2024.
