SEGA, in partnership with Aniplex and developer CyberConnect2, have today announced that a sequel to the 2021 3D arena brawler, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC next year.
Known as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2, and Developed by CyberConnect2, the game is a 3D arena brawler that will continue the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba storyline from where the first game left off. In this case players will be able to experience the iconic moments from the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village and Hashira Training arcs in video game form.
Unlike the first game, which was criticized for it’s lack of demons and limited human characters, this second game will offer all hashira’s as playable characters and even more demons will be available to battle. In addition to the games story mode, which will retell the events of the anime (and manga) series, players will also find offline and online VS modes.
As it stands Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One and Windows PC in 2025 with further details to be announced at a later date.
