In an exclusive reveal on UK Anime Network, MVM Entertainment have confirmed that they will release Bubblegum Crisis and Riding Bean on Blu-Ray in the UK.
According to the article (on UK Anime Network) both Bubblegum Crisis and Riding Bean are being planned for a May 2025 release on Blu-ray in the UK, and that Bubblegum Crisis will be released as a Collector’s Edition set.
Bubblegum Crisis:
Bubblegum Crisis will reportedly use the same disc masters as those created by MediaOCD, and as such will see all eight episodes presented in English and Japanese (with English subtitles) and include bonus features such as Voice Actor Concert Special Holiday in Bali and Music video specials Hurricane Live. As mentioned, the set will also be released as a Collector’s Edition but exact contents of it have yet to be confirmed.
Synopsis: Mega Tokyo, 2032. The city is recovering from the great Kanto Earthquake, rebuilt largely thanks to the mega corporation Genom and its robotic creations, the Boomers. But when things go wrong and even the AD Police struggle to contain the chaos, the city can rely on the Knight Sabers, a band of 4 female warriors in battle armour that act as the city’s hi-tech guardian angels; led by the enigmatic Sylia Stingray, the team comprises rock star Priss Asigiri, dancer Lina Yamazaki and AD Police tech operator Nene Romanova. Classic cyberpunk action from AIC!
Riding Bean
Riding Bean on the other hand doesn’t have as much as information revealed, but we suspect that it will use the same disc masterials as those used by MediaOCD/Animeigo which featured the OVA in English & Japanese (with English subtitles). What we do know is that the release will include a Kenichi Sonoda interview, an original trailer, a new Blu-ray trailer, and an art gallery as bonus features.
Synopsis: Visiting the Chicagoland area and in need of a getaway driver? Well, there’s no better wheelman than Bean Bandit—the infamous Roadbuster! Provided you’ve got the scratch, Bean and his blonde bombshell of a partner, Rally Vincent, will get you where you need to go. Not long after finishing up a sketchy job, the Roadbuster is tasked with returning a young member of Chicago’s elite to her family’s estate.
