Following on from its announcement earlier in the month, MVM Entertainment have today confirmed that Urusei Yatsura (remake) will be released as a complete series collection on Blu-Ray, with it containing both Season 1 & Season 2 in a single set, on 14th April 2025.
The Blu-Ray set, which will be known as Urusei Yatsura (2022) – Season 1 & 2 Collection, will feature all 23 episodes in English and Japanese (with English subtitles). It is expected that MVM Entertainment will use the same disc masters as those used by Sentai Filmworks in America, as such we can expect the episodes to be spread across 4 Blu-Ray discs and also include Promotional Videos, Next Episode Previews, and Textless Songs as bonus features.
Synopsis: Ataru Moroboshi is known for his incredibly bad luck, so when alien invaders challenge a random human to battle for the future of the Earth, guess who they pick? But to everyone’s shock, unlucky Ataru inexplicably manages to defeat his beautiful, electrically charged, and bikini-clad opponent, Lum — and in the process, he mistakenly convinces her he wants her hand in marriage! Given that Ataru’s still chasing after his old girlfriend (and just about any other attractive girl he meets), this means a new war of the worlds is just beginning in the complete collection of the all-new URUSEI YATSURA Seasons 1 & 2!
Urusei Yatsura (2022) – Season 1 & 2 Collection will have an SRP of £49.99 and is also available to pre-order on Anime-On-Line at an early bird price for a limited time (until 19th January 2025). Pre-order availability at other retailers, such as Amazon UK and HMV, will appear in the coming weeks.
For the time being at least Urusei Yatsura (2022) – Season 1 & 2 Collection is scheduled to be released on 14th April 2025 in the UK via MVM Entertainment.
