SEGA have today confirmed that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which is the latest entry into the Sonic Racing franchise, will be speeding its way to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S & Windows PC in the near future. Additionally, a Closed Network Test will be taking place this month on PlayStation 5 giving players an early look at what to expect from the game.
Originally revealed during the PlayStation State of Play stream, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is the brand new sonic themed racing game from SEGA in which players will be able to drive, fly and warp across different tracks from iconic sonic locations to past SEGA titles.
In the game players will be able to race across 24 tracks, and can find themselves warped (by using travel rings) to a CrossWorld location (with 15 available). Traditional sonic racing gameplay modes, such as power-ups and speed boosts, will be available alongside new vehicles and customization options.
More importantly, those interested can register for the Closed Network Test. Registration ends on 19th February 2025 and the test itself will take place from 21st February 2025 until 24th February 2025 at selected times. The Closed Network Test will only be available for PlayStation 5 owners, but will allow players to experience 9 different characters, across 6 tracks, and 5 CrossWorlds with both World Match and Customization options available.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is planned for a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S & Windows PC release with more details available on the official website. Details on how to enter the Closed Network Test can also be found on the official website.
