Following on from yesterday’s reveal of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- being given a European cinema release next month, Anime Limited have today confirmed that they have partnered with Bandai Namco Entertainment to bring the film to UK cinemas with tickets also now available to book online.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will be available subbed across participating cinemas on the 15th March 2025, with a special preview screening also taking place at the BFI IMAX in London on 13th March 2025. Those attending this special event will also be given a exclusive free sample trading card from the forthcoming Gundam Card Game TCG which is due out in July of this year. Tickets for the special screening can be found on the BFI website, while tickets for general release can be found here.

As a reminder Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest anime entry into the long running Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, and is a collaboration project between studio khara, the studio most famous for Neon Genesis Evangelion, and SUNRISE, who are of course known for the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- brings together the first selection of episodes (from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX) and presents it as a feature-length-film before its TV (and streaming) debut later this year.

Synopsis: Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space. When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle Under the entry name “Machu,” she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji. Now their world is about to enter a new era.

Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for his work with Anno on the EVANGELION series, with Yoji Enokido, who works include Revolutionary Girl Utena and Bungo Stray Dogs, as screenwriter. Hideaki Anno is also involved with the project for the film (and series) screenplay.
