NIS America have recently announced that the latest chapter in The Legend of Heroes franchise, known as Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria- in Japan, will be released as The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 & Windows PC in Europe and North America later this year.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon takes place after the events of The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II, and features characters from Trails of Cold Steel, Trails into Reverie, and Trails through Daybreak, to present a story that will encompass all of Zemuria. Naturally, The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon is a turn-based RPG and will retain gameplay elements seen from past games in the franchise. In addition the game will feature both English & Japanese voice-over with English text/subtitles.
About: Van Arkride and the members of Arkride Solutions are back, and this time the future of the entire Zemurian continent is at stake! The people of Zemuria await the launch of humanity’s first foray into space with bated breath. A sudden invitation from Marduk to cooperate in a high-tech training exercise sets Van, Ashen Chevalier Rean Schwarzer, and Father Kevin Graham on a collision course with the secrets at the very core of Zemuria. Their paths may diverge, but the ultimate question remains the same: Just what lies beyond the edge of the horizon?
In addition to the western release being announced NIS America have also revealed that a physical Limited Edition will be made available for the console versions of the game. This Limited Edition will be exclusive to the NIS America store in US, Europe and UK, with it containing a copy of the game along with an Art Book, Steel Book, Soundtrack CD and Acrylic Clock. Pre-Orders for this edition are currently being accepted, with standard edition pre-orders expected to become available in the coming weeks.
As it stands The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon is scheduled for a Fall 2025 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 & Windows PC, with further release details to be announced. The Steam page is also live, along with an official website.
