Unboxing: Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Incident (Limited Edition Blu-Ray) [UK]

Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Incident will soon be making its way to Blu-RayDVD, and Limited Edition Blu-Ray in the UK (on the 5th May 2025 to be exact). Coincidentally, and courtesy of Crunchyroll (UK), we received a sample of the Limited Edition Blu-Ray, and so we are going to unbox it and show you what it contains.

First of all, Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Incident features all 18 episodes (in English & Japanese with English subtitles) from The Shibuya Incident arc and is presented neatly in a single set. So, whether you plan to purchase the DVD, Blu-Ray or Limited Edition Blu-Ray, you’ll be satisfied in knowing that you have that complete arc – which in my mind can be seen as Season 2 Part 2.

Synopsis: On the fateful night of October 31st, a Curtain falls upon Shibuya. Geto and his cursed alliance are waiting to spring their trap when Gojo storms in, as Itadori and other Jujutsu Sorcerers gather outside the Curtain. Will humans or Curses laugh in the end?

Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Inciden Limited Edition Blu-Ray is presented in a rigid art box, which has a premium (almost rubber) feel to it, with all of the contents (Blu-Ray, Book and Limited Edition contents) stored inside the art box. The Limited Edition contents are also stored inside a black box, which (once again) comes inside the art box, and this black box can be replaced with the Jujutsu Kaisen – Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Blu-Ray set to give the art box the impression of a complete Season 2 set.

Limited Edition Contents:

Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Incident (Blu-Ray)

Season 2 Art Box (holds both parts of Season 2)

Jujutsu Kaisen – Season 2 Book

Character Keyring

5 Character Art Cards

8 Character Stickers

2 Chibi Sticker Sheets

Blu-Ray Disc Contents:

18 Episodes across 3 Blu-Ray Discs (Region A & B)

English & Japanese with English Subtitles

Bonus Features

Textless Opening & Closing Songs

Japanese Promotional Videos

As you can see the Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Incident Blu-Ray that is included inside this Limited Edition Blu-Ray set is exactly the same as the Standard Edition Blu-Ray, and more importantly it comes with a carded sleeve that slides over the Blu-Ray case. Interestingly this carded sleeve is different to the carded sleeves made for other Crunchyroll releases, as not only is it thicker and offer a textured surface (much like the art box), but the character visuals and screenshots are glossy and reflect in sunlight.

Going beyond the anime:

This limited Edition set goes beyond the anime to include a Season 2 book that features Episode breakdowns and interviews with the Japanese voice actors from both Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and The Shibuya Incident. For fans that enjoyed the Japanese version of the show, then this book is a must have. Of course, that’s not all. As this Limited Edition set also includes a variety of stickers, a selection of art cards and a key ring.

Personally I do not find the stickers that desirable, even if the chibi characters do look great, but they are a fun addition to have. The Art Cards meanwhile provide a clear visual of different characters from the series, and have a shiny finish to them for that extra flair, while the Key Ring offers something that can express your enjoyment of the series out in the wild. Additionally, because the key ring isn’t made of plastic (or acrylic) it should survive the test of time for awhile.

Jujutsu Kaisen – The Shibuya Incident will be available on Blu-RayDVD, and Limited Edition Blu-Ray from the 5th May 2025 in the UK via Crunchyroll.
