Lazarus and this show should split their scripts/budgets.
Impressions:
At least this is providing an interesting contrast to Lazarus by having the complete opposite issues. A zillion things happened here, any of which could’ve been its own episode, but blasting past all of it completely robbed all of them of any impact. One of you is a traitor, and it’s her, who’s going straight to cultist recruiter. I killed the red ranger, and now he’s back/replaced with a clone or something. One monster smeared red with a single clip and now everybody hates the entire ranger force. The rangers created the swarm of monster frogs and are still up to something, but maybe later.
It feels like they realized the previous arc/routine they had wasn’t working and now it’s time for the kind of soft reboot of the entire setting that normally uses a time lapse montage between seasons for. Except here, it all happens over the weekend on a completely random episode. I don’t think I mind it too much because the school arc was that lame, but none of it feels particularly organic, and results in an episode that for all the things that happened, very little of it was anything a character actually did. Even the trip-assassination was maybe only 20 seconds of the entire episode and then got zero focus after it.
