Anime Limited (All The Anime), in partnership with PLAION Pictures, have recently announced that they have acquired the UK and France distribution rights to the film 100 Meters with the film confirmed for a UK cinema release in the near future.
100 Meters is an upcoming anime film, animated by studio Rock’n Roll Mountain, and is based upon the manga of the same name by Uoto. The film will receive its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025, during the Annecy Presents screenings, and is directed by Iwaisawa. The film has also been licensed by GKIDS Entertainment for a North America release in October.
Synopsis: 100 METERS follows Togashi, a track star who is born to run. As a kid, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race without effort. But in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is full of determination but lacks technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new purpose: to win no matter what. Years pass by, and Togashi and Komiya meet again as rivals on the track and reveal their true selves.
The acquisition of 100 Meters means that Anime Limited will release the film into cinemas across the UK, Ireland and France at some point in the future. Specific details about screening availablity and dates have yet to be confirmed.
