Everyone that knows me, knows that my favourite Arcade franchise is TIME CRISIS, and so it pleases me that G’AIM’E’s Kickstarter Project for a light gun bundle that works on modern TVs has been met with success and positivity.
In short, G’AIM’E kickstarter project was looking to secure £36,000 in funding in order to release the G’AIM’E Gun Controller Set, which is a plug-and-play light gun package that works on modern TVs. Within 10 minutes of the Kickstarter going live it achieved its kickstarter goal, and at the time of writing the kickstarter has achieved over £316,000 in funding. Which is A LOT over its target.
But what exactly is the G’AIM’E Gun Controller Set? Basically it is a Light Gun and Console Box that plugs in to your TV and allows you (for the basic package) to play the arcade version of TIME CRISIS on any modern TV. This basic package is priced around £100, but an alternative package is also available. This alternative package includes arcade versions of TIME CRISIS, POINT BLANK, STEEL GUNNER and STEEL GUNNER 2, and is priced at around £150. Both packages will also include a foot pedal (for use with TIME CRISIS) and a light gun with rumble (recoil) support. Additional gun controllers will also be available separately once released, or can be purchased as part of a higher kickstarter tier.
Until now, the only way to play these Arcade versions was either via emulation with a Sinden light gun or the Arcade1Up Deluxe Cabinet (which looks awesome, but costs £700). Regardless, if you are a fan of any of these games and are interested in playing them on a modern TV setup (without breaking the bank) then it is worth taking a look at the Kickstarter project. The kickstarter itself will run until 23rd August 2025, with the final product expected to ship in late 2025/early 2026.
