Because it’s slow. And took forever.
Semi-Impressions:
The detective show continued to lean hard into overreactions and sudden yellng, so I couldn’t make it through the first segment about investigating a local ‘ghost.’ But this was a fairly atrocious episode too that was almost all flashbacks to take a second go at the origin story it correctly glossed over in the first episode. It took eighteen goddamned minutes of flashbacks, sitting at tables listening to things that would become flashbacks, before they went back to rejoin the gameshow, then a couple minutes of announcing what the next game would be (tag), and the ‘shocking’ twist that some monsters in it are unkillable, which is the cliffhanger for next week.
No more godawful CGI Fall Guys, I guess, but taking almost five minutes to explain the video game concept of Pac-man is not time that was well spent. Nor was going back and trying to re-do all the origin stories. Through all this, the most unbelievable thing is that a bunch of 17 year old VTubers would understand what a 3.5 inch floppy disk is. Maybe it seems less crazy in a famicom world. Can we please get on with it already?
