WhisperGames, in partnership with developers Dank Hearts, have today announced that the visual-novel styled puzzle game Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo will launch digitally on 17th September 2025 for Windows PC (via Steam).
Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo will offer players classic escape-room tension with a deeply emotional, character-driven story, that is presented through a visual novel and features gameplay that is just as varied as the characters you’ll encounter. A Playable demo (which we played here) is also available to download from Steam, and offers a well-rounded experience on what you can expect to receive from the full game.
About: Two strangers—a boy and a girl—wake up in a sealed underground tunnel with no memory of how they arrived. As the water rises, their only hope for escape lies in deciphering cryptic puzzles and uncovering fragmented memories.
Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo challenges players to navigate surreal, dreamlike environments filled with layered logic puzzles, unexpected twists, and emotional depth. As six teenagers fight for their lives in a decaying metropolis, they must also confront their pasts… and each other.
Key Features:
Solve 40+ Diverse Puzzles: From courtroom-style deduction battles to logic games, music staves, and even board game-inspired challenges, every puzzle is a piece of the story.
Unravel Emotion-Driven Storytelling: Each character faces a personal trauma. The narrative explores themes of identity, memory, and acceptance.
Explore a Psychedelic Metropolis: Traverse warped cityscapes that reflect the characters’ inner worlds. Each new zone reveals more of their secrets… as well as the city’s.
Discover Six Playable Characters: Experience the story through six interwoven perspectives. From jealousy and shame to denial and courage, each protagonist brings something different.
Multi-Language Support: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese at launch
Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo looks to offer a compelling visual novel experience mixed with escape-room puzzles, and is set for release on 17th September 2025. A steam page is also available with further details, and a playable demo.
