The official social media account for Hyper Japan has recently revealed, in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment, that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will be screening at the event in London on 18th July 2025 at 6:05pm. Attendees to the screening, which is free for all Hyper Japan ticket holders, will also receive a special Resource Promo Card: Machu (RP-010).
As a reminder Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest anime entry into the long running Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, and is a collaboration project between studio khara and SUNRISE. The series can be streamed on Amazon Prime in both dubbed and subbed formats. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- meanwhile brings together the first three episodes of the series and presents it as a feature-length-film. The film itself was also originally screened in cinemas across the UK before simulcast streaming began, and acts as a great introduction to the series as after watching the film you can jump straight in to Episode 4 of the series.
Synopsis: Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space. When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle Under the entry name “Machu,” she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji. Now their world is about to enter a new era.
It’s also worth noting that Bandai Namco Entertainment will also be bringing Gashapon, Ichibankuji, Gundam Card Game, and a Gundam photo booth to the event. Gashapon and Ichibankuji are two activities that can be found at the Bandai Namco Cross Stores in London and Birmingham.
Hyper Japan in London takes place at the Olympia Events centre in London between 18th and 20th July 2025 and is a festival that celebrates Japanese culture. Further details and ticket availability can also be found on the official website.
