Why are you robbing an ice cream store in broad daylight?
Impressions:
A little better than the previous episode, and probably not surprising since it both sped the pacing back up not quite to where the first episode was, but certainly better, and also had a sub-plot that didn’t involve Toto at all. The existence of a B-plot in anime is rare enough at all, and one in a harem show that doesn’t involve them squabbling over the protagonist? The girls are far more entertaining bouncing off each other and being agents of chaos, mugging ice cream store bandits and whatnot while sniping at each other.
But the core issue still remains. Their interactions with Toto, especially on an individual level, are already repetitive and getting tedious since they’re always the same. Gore was probably the best of the three, just because it had a lighter touch, but it was essentially the same as the one last week, only not clobbered over the head with a whole flashback announcing and explaining it. It still wasn’t all that well done though, because Toto isn’t a human. He’s a comedic prop. Maybe it’ll improve and they’ll do something different with the formula now that each have had their obligatory turn, and the next episode preview does indeed seem fairly different, but I’m not holding my breath.
