MVM Entertainment have today revealed, through a new early bird pre-order offer on Anime-On-Line, the Collector’s Edition contents for Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Sorching Sun as well as confirmed the expected release date.
Earlier in the month retail listings at Amazon UK revealed that it would be released on 20th October 2025, however the listing did not reveal the contents of the Collector’s Edition. The listing on Anime-On-Line meanwhile not only re-confirms that October release date, but also highlights that the Collector’s Edition will contain 4 art cards, a 72-page special booklet, and a 232-page storyboard book, in addition to the 12 Episode series on Blu-Ray. Packaging details have not yet been revealed, but we suspect that it will be some type of rigid art box.
Synopsis: No one has ventured into the sixth layer of the Abyss and remained unchanged. No one returns from their Last Dive, and no one knows what happened to those who delved further. Even with the possession of a White Whistle, an ominous specter hovers above Riko, Reg and Nanachi as they advance down to the sixth layer, the Capital of the Unreturned.
The pathways are more treacherous, the environment harsher, and the creatures even more dangerous, but the most unsettling thing of all is the ruins of the Golden City. Here each of the delvers will be forced to forge their own destinies and paths as they investigate the city’s mysterious origins and the strange beings who still dwell there. The answer to their questions, as always, lies somewhere ahead, down and forward.
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Sorching Sun has previously been released on Blu-Ray in the UK as a Standard Edition, and this Collector’s Edition will most likely use the same discs as that edition but repackaged. As a reminder Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Sorching Sun is the second season for Made in Abyss.
The Collector’s Edition of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Sorching Sun is scheduled to release on 20th October 2025 and has an SRP of £99.99, but is available as an early bird deal on Anime-On-Line. The set is also available to pre-order at other retailers online.
