It has been announced that the Japanese Rock Band ELLEGARDEN will perform the new opening theme song, known as Carmine, for ONE PIECE starting from Episode 1139 which will broadcast on 10th August 2025.
ELLEGARDEN is a four-member rock band that consists of Takeshi Hosomi (vocal, guitar), Shinichi Ubukata (guitar), Yuichi Takada (bass), and Hiroki Takahashi (drums) who formed back in 1998. Despite releasing many singles (and albums), this is the first time that the band have collaborated with an anime production. When offered the oppurunity to create a new song for the anime Takeshi Hosomi, a longtime fan of the series, gladly accepted, saying, “If it’s for ONE PIECE, absolutely.”
In preparation for the song making its debut on ONE PIECE Episode 1139, which broadcasts on 10th August 2025, a special promotion video has been released. Additionally, the full version of the song will become available to purchase after the episode has been broadcast. ONE PIECE is currently available to simulcast stream on Crunchyroll, and can also be watched on Netflix, in the UK.
