Not exactly Elsa here.
I’m back at home, on internet that doesn’t drop every 30 seconds, and starting to recover. Things should be back to normal within a few days.
Impressions:
I’m not sure if it was undermined by its childishness, or just fairly poor storytelling. It could’ve at least been a minor twist on how things progress had the reveal that yukionna in this world are all murderous black widows not come before she actually went all stabby, but they could’ve also been playing up the obsessive/murdery side too, especially had it been her trying to give him his perfect last day or whatever before putting him down. The way it was resolved was also very lacking, both in how she abruptly flip-flopped between killing him and everybody who gets in her way because she got a stern talking to, and how everybody shrugged and started wondering if she was really that bad.
She just tried to kill all of you, and said she’d be back to have another go at it later. Was she really so bad? Uh, yes. Yes, she was. She was a remorseless, self-centered walking disaster, and her character arc should’ve been her denying her innate monstrous ways and proving that she’s not the monster people think she is. Or at the very least, Nube finding some loophole, like setting the wedding date for 60 years from now. Not just wandering away after having a momentary change of mind about killing a bunch of kids. It’s not even like they were a real threat to her that required massive icicle spears to be thrown at them. I think that deserves a bit more than a light chastising.
