Nihon Falcom, in partnership with publisher GungHo, have recently released a playable demo for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, which is the 3D remake of the classic PSP game The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, on to the PlayStation 5 (via PlayStation Store) and Windows PC (via Steam). A Nintendo Switch Demo is also planned and will be available at a later date, and the game will also be released onto the Nintendo Switch 2.
The newly released demo for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter allows players to experience the games Prologue as well as various side quests and challenges during this Prologue portion of the game. Additionally, progress made in this demo can be transferred to the full game once it releases later this year. Both the demo and full game feature English & Japanese audio with subtitles in English, French and German.

In addition to the demo GungHo have also confirmed that a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game will be released. This Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will feature improved visuals, frame rate and load times. Additionally, fans will be able to upgrade from the Nintendo Switch to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by purchasing the upgrade pack from the Nintendo eShop. It’s not currently known if the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will receive a physical release.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is currently planned for a 19th September 2025 release onto the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC (via Steam) with further details to be revealed at a later date.
