Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback to Screen in UK & Ireland Cinemas on 26th September 2025

Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback, the latest and twenty-eighth feature-length-film in the Detective Conan (CASE CLOSED) franchise, will be making its UK and Ireland debut in cinemas on 26th September 2025 courtesy of Trinity CineAsia.

The news was announced on the Trinity CineAsia social media profiles, along with an English subtitled trailer for the film, with more details to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Much like the previous film, Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram, which also received a UK cinema release nearly a year ago, Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback is a stand-a-alone film that all anime fans can enjoy. This time the film takes place in Nagano, where a mystery needs to be unraveled with the support of marking the return of three beloved characters from the manga to the big screen — the Nagano Prefectural Police’s trio of childhood friends: Inspector Kansuke Yamato, Taka’aki Morofushi, and Yui Uehara.

Synopsis: Nagano PD’s Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara are alerted when a researcher is attacked at an observatory in the Yatsugatake Mountains. During the investigation, Kansuke begins to feel a strange discomfort in the eye he injured during an avalanche 10 months earlier. Meanwhile, Kogoro receives a call from his former colleague Sametani, who claims to be investigating the same avalanche that involved Kansuke. But before Sametani can share his findings, he is assassinated right before Kogoro and Conan’s eyes. Determined to uncover the truth, Kogoro travels to Nagano himself, while Conan launches his own investigation. In Nagano, while investigating Sametani’s murder, Conan and Kogoro discover that the avalanche is linked to a robbery that took place eight years earlier. But when Detective Kansuke becomes the target of a mysterious assailant, the stakes rise sharply. From the very first scene, tension and emotion build toward a climax sealed by an avalanche in the Yatsugatake Mountain range.

Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback is the second-highest-grossing release of the year so far at the Japanese box office, and it is exciting to see that the film will receive a cinematic release in the UK. A trailer for the film has also recently been rated by the BBFC, so we might even see the film advertised before other films in the cinema.

Tickets and screening availability details will become available in the near future, but for the time being Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback is scheduled to be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 26th September 2025.
