Yay, trash. Again.
Impressions:
The novelty of ancient shounen done at least passably has definitely fallen off, and it doesn’t have the overarching story of something like ZKC or even Elusive Samurai to help it out. There’s only so many times a random kid can stumble on something supernatural, and it turns out it just wanted a friend. At least that one furry dude straight up wanted to murder a kid and rip out his skeleton. That dude actually wanted something, and tried to make it happen. And who doesn’t respect attempting to rip the bones out of a child from bone-lust?
This week is just an array of tsukumogami, something I had my fill of with that one show about a whole heap of them trying to get a teenager laid, with a special emphasis on the kasa-obake, the generic umbrella monster that’s the first in line every time any game or anime needs to have some flavor of yokai. A bunch of thrown out things now have sentience and… are just hanging around. The umbrella one kidnaps a rich kid and they go flying around so they can remember it and then everyone goes home.
