I am completely out of anything to say about these shows.
An irritating pre-air, since the broadcast doesn’t actually start for a week on any format as near as the Japanese page is indicating, so episode 2, which I will not be awaiting, isn’t until like mid October.
Impressions:
The best part of this one was the moment in the opening where the dude runs straight off a cliff, and his entire harem starts falling next to him. This is nice, I thought to myself. For one brief moment, I can lose myself in the fantasy that they’re all going to splatter on the ground and spare the world from this abject garbage. Alas, it would just smash cut to him montage walking through a forest, so the dream was short lived and it was right back to the same tedious status screen popup cheat power RPG world nonsense as always.
Some day, one of these will somehow be genuinely good. Well written, a compelling story, good animation, fun characters. Today is not that day, and given that there are something like THIRTEEN more of these this season, the rest of 2025 ain’t looking too good either, even if you’re assuming monkeys on keyboards are churning these out instead of ChatGPT. Monkeys would be showing more creativity. Like maybe we could have popup scrolls instead of popup screens. Or it could be a grading system based on metric. But not this one. Just all the terrible tropes. All in a row. Recited dutifully.
