New Anime

Crunchyroll to Simulcast Stream “Hana-Kimi” from 4th January 2026

Crunchyroll have recently confirmed that they have acquired the streaming rights to Hana-Kimi, and will begin simulcast streaming it from 4th January 2026. If that wasn’t exciting enough the anime series is adapted from the manga of the same, of which debut in 1994.

That’s right, it has been more than 30 years since the manga, written by Hisaya Nakajo, was released in Japan and this is the first time that it has been adapted in to an anime series. This brand new anime adaptation of the romantic comedy manga is animated by Signal.MD (Nina the Starry Bride) and is led by director Natsuki Takemura (Go! Go! Vehicle Zoo). YOASOBI has also been confirmed as performing both the opening and ending songs for the series.

Synopsis: Japanese-American track-and-field star Mizuki has gotten herself to transfer to a high school in Japan…but not just any school! To be close to her idol, high jumper Izumi Sano, she’s going to an all-guys’ high school…and disguising herself as a boy! But as fate would have it, they’re more than classmates…they’re roommates! Now, Mizuki must keep her secret in the classroom, the locker room, and her own bedroom. And her classmates–and the school nurse–must cope with a new transfer student who may make them question their own orientation…
