Aksys Games have recently announced that they will be localizing and relasing the otome visual novel OVER REQUIEMZ on to the Nintendo Switch in 2026. The game is developed by Kogado Studio, and published by Idea Factory in Japan, but will be localised and released by Aksys Games next year in Europe and North America.
In this visual novel experience players will find themselves transported into Oz, a faraway kingdom ruled by four witches and the king, after being caught up in a terrifying tornado. It’s the set-up for a story that sounds oddly familiar, and with good reason, as this game is considered a dark reimagining of the classic tale.
About: In a dark reimagining of the classic tale, high school student Yuhiru is swept up in a mysterious tornado and finds herself lost in Oz. There, she is unjustly sentenced to death and ordered to travel with four convicts on death row and their supervisor. Their goal? Mysterious ruins that look like home, only dilapidated and infested with monsters. At the mercy of her fellow travelers, Yuhiru will face many hard decisions along the way. But there’s one thing she must bear in mind: No one is lost forever, no matter how far they’ve strayed.
OVER REQUIEMZ will be released in 2026 for the Nintendo Switch with further details to be announced at a later date.
