Crunchyroll, in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment (Sony Pictures Releasing UK), have today confirmed that JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution, otherwise known in Japan as JUJUTSU KAISEN: The Movie – Shibuya Incident Special Edition x Culling Game Advance Screening, is now available in participating cinemas across the UK and Ireland.
In preparation for today’s cinema release of the film, a new subtitled trailer was released onto the Sony Pictures Releasing YouTube Channel earlier this week. As a reminder JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution combines the climatic end to the Shibuya Incident Arc with the beginning of The Culling Game arc, in this case the first three episodes from the third season, and presents itself on the big screen for a cinematic experience.
Synopsis: A veil abruptly descends over the busy Shibuya area amid the bustling Halloween crowds, trapping countless civilians inside. Satoru Gojo, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, steps into the chaos. But lying in wait are curse users and spirits scheming to seal him away.
Yuji Itadori, accompanied by his classmates and other top-tier jujutsu sorcerers, enters the fray in an unprecedented clash of curses, the Shibuya Incident.
In the aftermath, ten colonies across Japan are transformed into dens of curses in a plan orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo, the most wicked sorcerer in history. As the deadly Culling Game starts, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu is assigned to carry out Yuji’s execution for his perceived crimes.
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution is both a celebration and continuation of the franchise, and offers fans an earlier look at the new season, known as The Culling Game, before it begins its simulcast broadcast in January 2026. This third season also reintroduces the Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0, who finds himself appointed as Yuji Itadori’s executioner. As such, Yuta must turn his blade on Yuji in the highly anticipated battle between Satoru Gojo’s two beloved students.
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution is being screened in Japanese with English subtitles with the film now available in cinemas across the UK and Ireland. JUJUTSU KAISEN – The Culling Game will also begin simulcast streaming on Crunchyroll from the 8th January 2026.
