Whole lotta mouth play this week.
Impressions:
I’m having trouble figuring out what this arc is really trying to do. Not the weird fish-based fanservice wet dream at the start. I understand fanservice, though if you’re going to do a wet dream, fish cakes is a weird fetish. Anyway, everybody’s supposedly acting a little off, and Aki is having a prolonged anxiety or panic attack over it… or he’s just got a low grade fever. It’s not abundantly clear which, partially because despite it ending on him about to collapse, most of the second half was more on Iroha and reminding us of some of the more abandoned jokes from early in the show, like Mashiro and the teacher character existing at all.
Also, Iroha isn’t really acting all that unusual either. He’s just being an ass to her, moreso than usual, and a better show would’ve had him realize the blatantly obvious immediately instead of milking it for misunderstanding drama with literally every single character simultaneously. Nor is Mashiro for that matter. She’s acting the same as before pretty much, just now with weird texts. At some point, you’re going to have to look inward if every single other person is the issue. Or just hydrate and take a nap. This is a mountain of hay being made over slightly sleeping in due to a wet dream and forced popsicling.
