Punching Things Sometimes But Rarely #10 — But First, Bureaucracy

I remember when I had hopes for this show.

Impressions:

It really is kind of incredible how far this has lost the thread of its beginning, and how it really seems determined to compete with the android show for which can piss around the most and be worse written. Two goddamned thirds of this episode is spent in a goddamned meeting. The monster armies are approaching! They’re bearing down on us at any moment! But first, let us away halfway across the country, put on our fanciest of fineries, have some tea, and discuss the situation. Look at our maps. They’re so parchmenty. And how big our table is, with everybody sitting on one side for some reason, so nobody can appreciate this map. This entire bit just to rehash the one gag character from episode 3? Are you serious here? Are we really doing this?

When we finally get to the evil invading armies, it’s still just fewer dudes than it’d take to form a dance flash mob, in a random field in the middle of nowhere. Which are instantly dispatched by the protagonist, because of course they are. At least they’re being consistent from the previous episode where the evil armies were also about seven dudes with pitchforks. Oh, but the evil super orc with super regenerating powers is here to stop her. Look at how drooly and rapey he is. She’ll have to dig deep into her… nope, she just says she’ll punch him again, does, and that wins the day. The entire invasion has been thwarted. Thanks to a long strategy meeting and punching a couple dudes four times. Maybe next week I’ll just look at screencaps and try to make something up. It’d almost certainly end up better written than this.
