Even when beheaded.
Impressions:
What a stupid show, but at least the train wreck is finally in the process of catching fire and exploding. Turns out that the one random dude who joined their party is a secret evil mastermind all along, and Iago’s his way into Amoru’s head to have her brainjack one of the androids. Why he waited literal years to pull off this master plan, or didn’t just grab some random person, or do anything whatsoever while everybody was comatose? I guess that just wouldn’t have been dramatic enough. And who is he? One of Towasa’s fellow apocalypse causing fellow scientists with a crush on her, as if her entire little clique hadn’t caused enough apocalypse. Oh, and it also turns out that everybody knows about the search for Towasa in the evil empire. Somehow, the party just never heard about that. Come on, writers.
But, as I said, the train wreck do be wrecking, and so there’s at least a beheading, though it didn’t stop her from yapping and then simply un-beheading herself five seconds later, ruining any fun of holding a leaking severed head. And… that’s kind of it. Why we needed a timeskip, or montage followed by rambling how everything was changing, no idea. The infodumps will continue in the interim. And no doubt Amoru will just be hugged back to sanity, as if her heel turn made any sense to start with. If all of them explode, that’s about the only thing that’d count as a good ending for me at this point.
