Ugh. This doesn’t end this week? Not only that, but we’re for all intents and purposes extending the school festival ‘arc’? Sure, they’re at ostensibly actual restaurants and cafes… where there’s no other customers, one waitress for .5 seconds, and you prepare the food or do cat cafe crap yourself. And if you think that I’m stretching, they repeatedly keep flashing back to the previous episode to remind us how this is just like their school festival. With such amazing jokes making full use of its premise like “I saw you blowing on food and I thought you were going to feed it to me.” “I’ll do that!” “Me too!” “Me too!” “I wrote a haiku about doing that.”
That torturing of comedy consumes 75% of the episode. Then he accidentally overhears her planning a surprise birthday party for him, so THAT’s going to be the final bit, also stretched out to take up 1.25 episodes because now they need to make a mountain out of that molehill, as if it didn’t spend a large chunk of this episode already doing a retrospective. You are entirely fluff. You have nothing to celebrate. At least end with something slightly novel.
