The school festival that never ends.
Impressions:
Trying to make a big deal out of how much Luna has grown and developed was absolutely a mistake. This supposed development happened back in like episode 1, and was instant and permanent. All it’s really doing is rehashing the premise that was thrown out ten minutes into the show and reminding me of how it had most of an episode about how Otori hated and was awkward around crowds, only to completely drop that as soon as it was introduced as well. Not that I expected anything different at this point, but it’s still a dumb thing to try to concentrate on in the closing minutes of the final episode.
The rest is just a continuation of the festival filler really, and could’ve slotted right in there without any changes since it’s all doing the same crap. They go to a gym space, eat food, look at pictures, watch a slideshow recap about themselves. So… literally the same as the first half of the previous episode where they were at a festival and went to a gym, ate food, looked at pictures, and did a montage about themselves. Repetition truly makes the brain turn to mush. So why not do a little more flashback recaps to really drive that home? And that’s how it ends, appropriately unable to ever move forward, only wallow in its supposed premise. Farewell to an awful season. Bring on the next.
