For You in Full Blossom #01 — Stalking is Good, Actually

Y’all are boring.

Also a double episode premiere. And also not sure I care to do more than glance at the second episode to confirm it’s more of the same. …Yep, except it ends with him walking in on her in the shower.

Impressions:

First off, why is the OP so loud? Go easy on my ears. Anyway, the second half of the episode sure cranks things up. Awful premise introduction over, it’s time for her to faint and/or be pressed against surfaces while overbearing dudes lean over her in quick succession. Props to the blonde guy for ‘only’ elbowing her in the nose, though I guess he was the one that they kept doing the ‘comical’ overly handsy grabbing with for the rest of the episode. It’s… corny shoujo, I guess. It’s not particularly funny. The weird stalking stuff is glossed over or even celebrated. Everybody is the same tedious archetypes doing the same wall-slam and blushing cliches that it’s done for the last fifty odd years.

I don’t understand the appeal, and I find it hard to even try to come up with anything meaningful when so very little happened, and what did was the same setup for every shoujo episode. Even posing as a boy is pretty standard. I hate to fall back on this, but I guess if you’re a fan of these, it’s more of the exact same? But I don’t see where any comedy, story, or meaningful character interactions are going to come from when they’re starting with a base devoid of all ambition and creativity to start.
