Maybe yell more. That might help.
Impressions:
This was even stupider than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty damn stupid. It’s pretty much the same as that friend’s sister show from last season, except instead of snarky, it’s screaming overreactions, only one character now in two bodies, and even stupider. It ended with them fighting with each other over who could sit on his lap and rub their ass against his crotch the best, all while he’s yelling “THIS CANNOT BE ROMANTIC!” So then he gropes their chests. I can’t even say that this is an escalation because there’s a corny panty shot early on, which gets not just the panty shot and quick slowmo repeat, but a flashback so he can yell “A PANTY SHOT! SEXY! BUT SHE’S JUST A CHILDHOOD FRIEND!” Which is the thoroughline for the entire show, quickly turning into a deafening buzz of noise repeated on loop.
I’m pretty sure I’m relatively innoculated against fanservice, even enjoy it doled out appropriately. The yelling though? And especially the stupidity? Nothing but pain, and is the turd that spoils the already very questionable soup. This might’ve been tolerable if the protagonist was more deadpan and snarky about how transparent and dumb they are instead of a screaming imbecile. The only joke is him doing every bad fanservice cliche while yelling after it either a recap of what happened, or the title of the show. Oftentimes both. Even shows like Love Hina or Girls Bravo are a good three or four tiers more intellectual than this, not to mention better animated.
