Netflix is fast becoming a new home for anime titles, as on the 15th January 2026 the shonen anime series Gintama will become available to stream on Netflix in the UK.
It is unclear how many episodes (or seasons) of Gintama will become available to stream, or what language options will be made available, but we suspect that the first season will be made available in dubbed and subbed formats. It’s also worth noting that Gintama can be streamed on Crunchyroll in the UK.
Synopsis: In a world where aliens have invaded Edo Period Japan, skyscrapers, trains and motor bikes have replaced the simple life of Earth inhabitants. One man however, still carries the soul of a samurai, Gintoki Sakata, otherwise known as Yorozuya Gin-san. As reckless as he is, Gintoki carries his own resolve and is ready to take on any challenge with his fellow companions.
