Weird priorities, but all right.
Impressions:
I ultimately put this slightly over that other reincarnation show just because the ending bit let my mind wander into a better timeline where this was a harrowing episode about substance addiction and him slowly losing his mind/realizing he was succumbing to the same things that made him miserable in his previous life despite being given a fresh start and every advantage. Alas, of course it’s not that. As if the constant reaction faces on pastel backgrounds didn’t make that obvious. And the OP-as-ED playing at the end which is almost literally him and the emo bishie skipping merrily hand in hand through the meadows.
It is not subtle, to say the least. Which also makes me wonder why they’re hiding the sausage, as it were. Sure, if you know the BL tropes, the episode was coated in them, even more than just the one token girl which, again, from the OP, becomes even more comically alone in a sea of adoring men. But if you’re going to be this over the top, why be coy at all? There’s already no emotion or story. I at least understand it. Well, when it’s not being screamed at me by shrill idiots.
