A playable demo for the upcoming BlazBlue spin-off title, BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, is now available to download for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with those playing the demo being awarded a mysterious bonus in the full game when it launches on the 12th February 2026.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is a roguelite action experience set within the BLAZBLUE universe and features familiar characters like Ragna The Bloodedge, Mai Natsume, Noel Vermillion, Taokaka, and Jin Kisaragi in side-scrolling styled gameplay. The demo allows players to experience a small portion of the game, as well as unlock a bonus in the full version.
About: At a mysterious domain, known as “the Lab”,a group of elite researchers race to save a collapsing word; however, despite their efforts to date, Dr. Mercurius, head of the laboratory, still warns the world’s downfall is near. In a last-ditch effort, the urgent *Research of Possibility* initiative seeks to collect *Shards of Possibility*—a special fragment of the world that could forestall the seemingly inevitable destruction. These shards lie within the *Sea of Possibility*, a realm between worlds, beyond the bounds of reality. Our protagonist, *Ace*, is the only being capable of diving into this sea. Guided by the elite researchers at *the Lab*, Ace descends again and again in pursuit of salvation—until strange visions take hold and his body begins to change. As Ace continues to dive, countless memories flood his mind, and the truth behind the collapsing world—and the research itself—begins to surface….
It is worth noting that BlazBlue Entropy Effect X was previously released on Steam, as BlazBlue Entropy Effect, and is considered a very positive experience as well as a welcome addition to the BLAZBLUE universe. Those interested in experiencing the game can do so with the playable demo on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. BlazBlue Entropy Effect X can also be pre-ordered digitally on both platforms for £20 (Standard) and £30 (Digital Deluxe Edition), and PlayStation Plus subscribers can also receive a 10% discount before its launch on 12th February 2026.
A Physical Edition of BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is also planned, of which will contain the same items as the Digital Deluxe Edition. Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 are available at online retailers including Amazon UK.
