Crunchyroll, the online anime streaming platform, have recently confirmed in an email to customers, as well as a post on the Crunchyroll News Blog, that the Crunchyroll Subscription Price will be increasing after March 2026 for current subscribers. These newly announced subscription prices are already in effect for new customers.
The email received by customers informs them of the change they can expect to their subscription, and when it should take place, as the post on the Crunchyroll News Blog is aimed towards US subscribers. For the UK the new monthly (and yearly) fees can be found listed below and will apply in the next billing cycle for current subscribers. The pricing for new customers changed yesterday (on 2nd February 2026) and is as it appears on the Crunchyroll website.
Monthly Tiers:
Fan Tier will increase from £4.99 per month to £5.99 per month on your next billing date after March 2026
Mega Fan Tier will increase from £5.99 per month to £6.99 per month on your next billing date after March 2026
Annual Tiers:
Fan Tier will increase from £49.99 per year to £59.99 per year on your next billing date after March 2026
Mega Fan Tier will increase from £59.99 per year to £69.99 per year on your next billing date after March 2026
As a reminder Crunchyroll is an online streaming platform that, once subscribed, gives viewers access to a wide range of anime titles with highlights including Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and Solo Leveling in both dubbed and subbed formats. New episodes are added weekly shortly after broadcast in Japan. Crunchyroll can be watched on a variety of Smart TVs, Consoles and Smartphones but is also accessible through a web browser. But what about the tier system for UK subscribers? Well, here is a breakdown of what each tier offers.

So, what exactly does this mean? Well if you sign-up for a Crunchyroll subscription today then you will already be required to pay the newly introduced price. For existing subscribers, the price will come in to effect after March 2026. For monthly subscribers to price increase should take place in April 2026 while for Yearly subscribers it will depend on when the subscription first started. In my case the subscription started in March, so from March 2027 I will pay the higher rate. For questions and support then it would be best to contact Crunchyroll support directly.
