I put it off for so long finally watching the ending for one of my favourite series ever. I didn’t know how to describe how I felt so a letter it was.
Dear My Hero Academia,
“You too can become a hero” Inclusion, acceptance, a door opening are the riveting words ringing through a young boy who thought the doors were closed for him. These words became hope, hope didn’t exist before until something manifested for it to be so. From the first episode a flood of familiarity and warmth pours out resonating to all who have or begin the journey.
Your journey was never about a singular journey but “all for one” a gathering of hope that purpose was to reignite something in all of us. Show us our inner fire that dims out at some point in our lives, is and will always be there through emotive and passionate characters with their own single morals and principles. The fire is there for when we need to dig deep allowing for hope to manifest for ourselves and remind us that ordinary is not non- accomplishing that in fact is the opposite.
With every heart-pounding new season that came over the years, the fire got only brighter, the adrenaline rush of emotions to feel in a single season you would put out overwhelms the self. An indescribable feeling for millions who are dear lovers of you. The dead spot moments of sheer low and despair were your biggest burst of emotive connection, cries of defiance and keeping the fire alive, they were your most exhilarating soul reactive moments.
The heart had to feel something towards every wannabe hero and become to us something precious and signifying. You made many go through the waves of tears, laughter and breakdown and the cycle of repetition until this year 2026, “the day had come”. Come for you to end this journey on a fitting note, the goosebumps never stopped once towards the final conclusion. A boy who had grown, grown and grown, then manifested into a chosen hope thus carrying onto to others and realising hope was about many not just one. A boy’s will and passion was the beginning and end of one of the most epic endings in anime for I and others will ever see.
It felt like we witnessed something truly special within the space of anime and only feels right to call you amazing because you are. Many from now will be able to enjoy and experience what I and others did from the first moment you aired. You ring the message of a hero unlike any series that have come before and what you will be known from henceforth. You ring the meaning of hope through emotional storytelling and bindingly infectious characters, manifesting for all an emotive instant connection.
My Hero Academia, Hope and Heroes are your moral compass and they become our own compass, All for one from here on out right?
Hope is not created from one person but so many.
