That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea Announced for UK Cinema Release on 1st May 2026

Crunchyroll, in partnership with Sony Pictures UK, have recently announced that That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, which is the second feature-length instalment into the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime series, will screen in participating cinemas across the UK on 1st May 2026 in dubbed and subbed formats.

Animated by Eightbit, and directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea is a stand-a-lone film within the anime franchise and takes place after the events of Season 3. The story sees Rimuri and his companions as they visit a private resort island and encounter a new nation under the sea.

Synopsis: After concluding the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest, Rimuru and his companions are invited by the Celestial Emperor Elmesia of the great elven nation – the Magi Dynasty Thalion – to visit her private resort island. As the group enjoys their brief vacation, a mysterious woman named Yura appears. A new incident unfolds against the backdrop of the boundless azure sea.

Tickets for the film are expected to become available to book online closer to the films release, but the film will be shown at participating cinemas across the UK in dubbed and subbed formats from 1st May 2026.

As a reminder the fourth season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime also begins simulcast streaming on Crunchyroll from 3rd April 2026 with the previous three seasons all available to stream on the platform. The series so far, and previous film, are also available on Blu-Ray in the UK through Crunchyroll.
