Bandai Namco Entertainment have recently released a new trailer for Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters, of which is planned for a for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC later this year, with it showcasing the key system features the game has to offer.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is a sequel to the Captain Tsubasa: Rise of the New Champions game that launched onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in 2020 and this latest installment will feature 22 national teams (including some that did not appear in the previous game), over 110 playable characters, and more than 150 unique animated special moves. While football (or soccer) is a core gameplay element, and has reportedly been vastly improved from the original, the story will focus on players creating their own character and joining Tsubasa on his quest. Along the way you’ll forge new friendships, fight new rivals, and bring the trophy back home.
New Systems highlighted in the trailer:
Max Actions: High risk, high reward power moves that dominate offensive and defensive exchanges.
Super Moves: Character specific abilities for forwards, midfielders, and defenders, including Super Shots, Super Passes, Super Dribbles, and Super Tackles.
Chain System: Build momentum through dribbles, passes, and special actions to amplify shot power and charge speed.
Goalkeeper Tactics: Six directional shot prediction, stamina-based duels, and break mechanics that permanently reduce keeper stamina.
Miracle Actions: Rare, dramatic comeback moments that can turn the tide of a match, capturing the unpredictable spirit of the original series.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is planned for a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC in 2026 with further details to be announced.
